"Pointing you towards added value in property, construction, maintenance & related procurement"

The Bible is the best management book you could ever read!!!

Not only do you get loads of examples of good, bad and ugly leadership to learn from you also get the ultimate example of leadership through service and sacrifice and a whole wealth of training and guidance material to go with it.

For those of us who like to have our training pretty direct and straight try reading the Letter from James - it's in the New Testament, towards the end of the bible.

The Letter from James is a collection of practical instructions, written to "all God's people scattered over the whole world".

It includes:
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
James 1: 19

Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!
James 2: 12 - 13
St Paul's letters to the various churches and people are also a great source of management material. For example they frequently pick up on themes of leadership, service, cooperation, conflict management and many other topics relevant to morally sound management.

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John we get to hear the teaching of Jesus directly - often in parables that are as relevant today as ever:
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye"
Luke 6: 41 - 42
